The Rotary Club of Joondalup’s youngest president highlights upcoming events and community projects.
YOUTH exchange, a beach clean-up and homelessness issues will be some of the focal points for the Rotary Club of Joondalup this month. President Eliza Bourgault du Coudray (23) said the group of “community-minded individuals” met regularly at Joondalup Resort in Connolly and lived by the mantra of “service above self”.
The Connolly resident is the club’s youngest president to date and her goal is to lift its profile in the community. “The club is currently seeking new members and there are a variety of ways to support and be involved with the club – either by becoming a member, hosting an exchange student or volunteering for a project,” she said.
The club will hear from past and present Rotary Youth Exchange students at its October 8 meeting at Joondalup Resort.
On October 22, it will host guest speaker Katie Liew, from The Underground Collective, for a talk about homelessness at the resort, with both meetings open from
6pm for a 6.30pm start. The club is also planning a beach clean-up at Mullaloo Beach on October 14 between
8.30am and noon.
