Guns, drugs seized after house search
POLICE say they found firearms and drugs during a search of a Marangaroo property last Tuesday.
Regional Investigations Unit officers searched the Marangaroo home on September 25 as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and distribution of firearms.
They found a sawn-off rifle with loaded magazine, altered replica handgun with loaded magazine and ammunition for both firearms.
Police also found about 88 grams of methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA), 56 grams of cannabis, 1 gram of MDMA powder, 1 gram of dexamphetamine tablets, drug paraphernalia and a stolen Honda motorcycle.
Police charged a Marangaroo man (26) with four counts of drug possession, two counts of possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property and firearm possession.
Other charges include possessing a prohibited drug (MDMA) with intent to sell or supply, having ready access to drugs and weapons, ammunition possession and possessing a prohibited weapon.
Police found a sawn-off rifle during the search.
MDMA was found during the search.
