ON THE TRAIL OF GARAGE GOODIES
MORE than 1700 garage sales took place around WA on Saturday as part of the annual Garage Sale Trail.
This year’s event was the fifth Garage Sale Trail, with organisers estimating more than $10 million worth of preloved items going up for grabs across the country.
Some of the highlights included the Lake Monger markets – which featured more than 100 stalls – and the City of Perth’s Treasure from Trash Bash, which involved a converted sea container in the CBD.
A Garage Sale Trail spokeswoman said WA Ballet headquarters in Maylands had a “massive” queue of punters keen to get one of the many costumes up for grabs on the day.
The simultaneous garage sales took place across the country to promote reuse, build community connections and encourage fundraising in a fun, social way.
