THE Deputy Headmaster of St Stephen’s School recently took his love of hockey to India, donating sporting equipment and running clinics for underprivileged students.

Richard Davies, a coach of international hockey players, called on luminaries such as multiple Olympian Jamie Dwyer and World Cup gold medal winner Tyler Lovell for support. Hockey equipment supplier and the Perth YMCC Hockey Club also donated equipment.

“Surprisingly, India’s national sport is hockey, not cricket,” Mr Davies said. “The children were overjoyed with the kit and with the coaching clinics we ran.”
