IT was a case of bad timing for two women police accuse of being in possession of drugs when officers raided a Hillarys home on an unrelated matter recently.

Officers were searching a Ninnis Place property after the April 14 theft of two laptops from a Lakeside Joondalup hi-fi store, accusing a man of breaking in through the roof.

But they laid more charges than expected when they allegedly found the women, aged 26 and 52, at the property with drugs.

In relation to the burglary, police allege shopping centre footage showed a 26-year-old Hillarys resident entering the premises between 6.40am and 7.40am on Good Friday.

Officers further allege he went back to the same store between 11pm and 11.50pm and stole another laptop.

Investigators recovered one of the computers from a pawnbroker.

Officers charged the man with fraud and multiple burglary offences.

They charged the older woman with possession of drugs with intent to sell or supply, possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of property. The other woman was charged with possession of ecstasy, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
