Team top in being a force for change
A DUNCRAIG resident and his co-worker have been recognised as the top disability support workers in the State.
Chris Black and Nadia Basmari, of Black Swan Health’s Partners in Recovery team, were selected from 130 nominations to receive the Overall Award for Excellence at the recent Disability Support Awards.
The pair also received the Excellence in Advocacy and Rights Promotion gong.
Rachel, who is a client of theirs, nominated them after they helped her make a significant transformation in her life.
She praised them for their “a willingness to do whatever it takes to better our lives”.
Mr Black took much pride from the accolade among a field of accomplished peers.
“I am just so humbled and grateful that the judges deemed us to be outstanding in what we see to be our day-to-day work,” he said.
Black Swan Health chief executive Terina Grace said the pair had been recognised for driving positive change.
