Man charged af­ter strip search un­cov­ers drugs

A KINGSLEY man was al­legedly hid­ing metham­phetamine in his un­der­pants when he was strip searched af­ter a po­lice stop in Quinns Rocks.

Of­fi­cers stopped a ve­hi­cle on Quinns Road about 2am on May 13.

They ac­cused the 35-year-old driver of pos­sess­ing 1g of metham­phetamine af­ter they con­ducted a road­side drug test on a clip seal bag of crys­tals.

They fur­ther al­leged he was in pos­ses­sion of a sy­ringe con­tain­ing a sub­stance be­lieved to be steroids.

Se­nior Sergeant Stu­art Fair­lie said of­fi­cers took him to Joon­dalup po­lice sta­tion where he was strip searched.

“They al­legedly found a fur­ther bag of meth hid­den in his crotch,” he said.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors charged the man with drug pos­ses­sion with in­tent to sell or sup­ply and driv­ing with­out a li­cence.

He is due to ap­pear in Joon­dalup Mag­is­trates Court on June 9.
