SLOW ROAD WORKS IRK

Joondalup Weekender - - Opinion -

THE northern residents are very angry that the freeway was not extended to Romeo Road.

This decision has caused our Government to spend millions on ancillary roads that would not be necessary if the freeway were planned correctly.

To add salt to the wound we currently have Marmion reduced to a single lane while that ancillary work is undertaken. For the last three days there have been three people working on the Lukin/Marmion roundabout.

This work would have taken a weekend in any other developed country, but in WA it is going to take at least a month. So while no priority is given to this job, the northern residents have to endure 1km of gridlock.

Come on Main Roads/Wanneroo City, start supervising this job and get it finished to stop the unnecessary delays. DOUG CROKER, Butler
