THE City of Wan­neroo has wel­comed State Gov­ern­ment fund­ing of $6 mil­lion to re­vamp Two Rocks Ma­rina, with a com­mu­nity meet­ing planned for next week.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said the City was work­ing closely with the De­part­ment of Trans­port to progress plan­ning ap­proval for the works.

“The City of Wan­neroo is de­lighted that the Two Rocks Ma­rina will be re­freshed and re­gen­er­ated to en­sure it is bet­ter placed to meet the needs of our com­mu­nity long into the fu­ture,”Mrs Roberts said.

More in­for­ma­tion about the up­grade will be avail­able at a com­mu­nity meet­ing on Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 11 from 5-7.30pm at the Phil Renkin Recre­ation Cen­tre, 59 Lis­ford Av­enue, Two Rocks.

The de­part­ment will set up a ref­er­ence group in late 2017 to look at the long-term vi­sion for the fa­cil­ity, in­clud­ing con­sid­er­a­tion of sea­grass wrack ac­cu­mu­la­tion and beach ero­sion around the ma­rina.
