Joondalup Weekender - - News -

HANDMADE wooden pieces will be among the treasures to be found at the Northern Suburbs Men’s Shed’s Garage Sale Trail event this month.

Members have been busy creating bowls, furniture, jewellery boxes and children’s toys using the striking woodworking technique of intarsia for the fundraiser.

Vice-chaimanr Ken Kingwell said they would also be selling equipment and second-hand goods donated by members, from furniture and kitchen items to bric-a-brac.

“We have a lot of excess stuff, a lot of hand tools,” he said.

“It’s probably going to be more like a giant garage sale.”

Mr Kingwell said money raised would help members continue to create items to donate to community groups and schools.

“It’s an opportunity also d473459 to encourage people to join the men’s shed movement,” he said.

The sale is on October 21 from 10am to 3pm at units 1C and 3, 288 Gnangara Road, Landsdale.
