JOONDALUP faces a tough task against second-placed Subiaco Floreat this weekend as it looks to recover from a disappointing start to the year in WA Premier Cricket.

The 11th-placed side faces the Lions in a one-day clash at Floreat Park on Saturday.

Joondalup lost to Willetton by seven wickets at Burrendah last weekend in its first game back after the Christmas break.

Opener Garrick Morgan top scored with 48 as the Centurions fell for 142 in the 44th over.

A middle-order collapse had the side lose 5-34 but a rally from the tail, led by Simon Branston’s 33, saved the side from complete disaster.

The Dragons had strong efforts from Will Rhodes (3-14) and WA quick Simon Mackin (3-31).

The hosts easily chased down the score in the 26th over aided by 56 from Stuart Biss.

Joondalup’s Harry Larmett, Josh Anderson and Jake Zsilinszky took a wicket each.
