On song for the Joon­dalup Fes­ti­val

END of Fash­ion front­man Justin Bur­ford will join more than 350 voices singing the hits of rock mu­sic icons Queen for this year’s Com­mu­nity Choral Project.

Bur­ford has spent the past few years play­ing the lead role in the Aus­tralian pro­duc­tion of the Broad­way hit mu­si­cal Rock of Ages and has joined the City of Joon­dalup project for this year’s per­for­mance.

Ac­com­pa­ny­ing him will be lo­cal per­former Shel Lam­beck who au­di­tioned for a solo spot af­ter singing in the choir for three years pre­vi­ously.

Re­hearsals have been held for the past seven weeks in the lead-up to the Joon­dalup Fes­ti­val from March 23 to 25.

Songs will in­clude Some­body to Love, Crazy Lit­tle Thing Called Love, Bo­hemian Rhap­sody and We Will Rock You, ac­com­pa­nied by a five­piece band.

“The City’s Com­mu­nity Choral Project is one of the most ex­cit­ing com­mu­nity arts projects in Perth,” Mayor Al­bert Ja­cob said. “It pro­vides peo­ple of all ages with the op­por­tu­nity to de­velop new skills, learn from some of the best mu­si­cians in WA and con­nect with their com­mu­nity.

“We are very ex­cited to have End of Fash­ion’s Justin Bur­ford tak­ing part this year; he will bring a mag­i­cal in­gre­di­ent to the show and we look for­ward to it be­ing one of our best yet.”

The event will take place in Cen­tral Park at 7pm.
