WATCHING the effects Parkinson’s disease has had on his family has spurred Caleb Rodriguez to make a difference.

The 23-year-old Sorrento resident is gearing up to lose his long locks this weekend to raise funds for Parkinson’s WA.

“My grandad was diagnosed in his ’60s and passed away two years ago at the age of 89,” Mr Rodriguez said.

“It was hard for my family to see him deteriorate and for my grandma, who was married to him for 65 years, to see him suffer.

“My aunty also has Parkinson’s and it is very hard on her as it affects her www.communitypix.com.au d480763 walking and she spends many hours exercising to stay as healthy as possible.”

This won’t be the first time Mr Rodriguez has shaved his head for a cause.

“Since the end of high school I let my hair grow, then three years ago I shaved it off for the Leukaemia Foundation,” he said.

“I have let it grow again and I’m now ready for round two and chose Parkinson’s WA to donate to this time.”

This time, Mr Rodriguez’s friend has jumped on board and he will also shave his head at a later date.
