THE Joon­dalup Wolves jug­ger­naut will look to build upon a nine-game win­ning streak as the side rolls into a ri­valry bat­tle with the Stir­ling Sen­a­tors in the State Basketball League this week­end.

The two City of Joon­dalup-based sides con­test the third Bat­tle of Joon­dalup for lo­cal brag­ging rights at HBF Arena on Satur­day night.

Fourth-placed Stir­ling faces the big­gest chal­lenge in the league against the white-hot Wolves, who lead the com­pe­ti­tion with a 14-1 record.

Joon­dalup’s dom­i­nance showed no signs of wan­ing last week­end when it eas­ily came away from a double header with two wins.

The Wolves de­feated Perry Lakes 95-67 away on Fri­day be­fore dis­pos­ing of Man­durah 107-75 at home on Satur­day.

Joon­dalup im­port Jalen Billups took Player of the Round hon­ours af­ter scor­ing 32 points against the Hawks and 19 points against the Magic.

The Wolves de­buted young­ster Jake O’Brien, who took four points, two steals, an as­sist and a re­bound from eight min­utes of court time.

In the women’s com­pe­ti­tion, the 10th-placed Lady Wolf­pack fell to a six-game los­ing streak af­ter a 67-55 loss to Perry Lakes and 68-66 loss to the Magic.

Amy Kinder landed 17 points against Perry Lakes, while Chelsea Belcher top scored against Man­durah with 18 points.
