BLUES COME ALIVE AT CLUB

NORTH­ERN Blues N Roots WA hosts its next Live Blues night at the Wan­neroo Tav­ern Func­tion Cen­tre this evening, June 7, with mu­sic start­ing at 7pm.

“We have a great line-up of blues artists for this month’s gig,” group co­founder Derek Cromb said.

“Each first Thurs­day of the month, we start with a solo or duo act, fol­lowed by the main band. Then we fin­ish off with our House Band, On The Level, who of­ten fea­ture a spe­cial guest.”

Start­ing off the night on June 7 are blues stal­warts Pete Ro­mano and Mark Constable, aka The Night Herons.

The main act is Big Town Play­ers, a Chicago blues-style band, fea­tur­ing the vocals and har­mon­ica of front­man Howie Small­man.

On The Level will fin­ish, with lead vocals by group co-founder Dave Gil­lam, lead gui­tar by Steve Garde and Bill Blis­sett on key­boards.
