What’s black and white and seen all over gallery?

ARTISTS have turned mono­tone for Joon­dalup Com­mu­nity Arts As­so­ci­a­tion’s lat­est ex­hi­bi­tion.

The Black and White Col­lab­o­ra­tive Art Ex­hi­bi­tion at Joon­dalup Art Gallery opened on Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 9.

“Artists from across the Joon­dalup area were in­vited to take part in the Black and White Col­lab­o­ra­tive Art Ex­hi­bi­tion, cur­rently on dis­play at the Joon­dalup Art Gallery in Cen­tral Walk,” cu­ra­tor Valerie Shaw said.

“The ex­hi­bi­tion cel­e­brates artists’ di­ver­sity and cre­ativ­ity, show­cas­ing art­works on pa­per in black, white and tones of grey and sil­ver.”

Shaw said more than 40 artists ex­plored dif­fer­ent ma­te­ri­als, con­cepts and im­ages, con­trasts and tex­tures to cre­ate more than 80 art­works for the ex­hi­bi­tion.

The ex­hi­bi­tion will run un­til Oc­to­ber 26 and there will be a cel­e­bra­tion at the gallery on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 14, from 2pm to 5pm.

En­try to the cel­e­bra­tion will cost $10 for adults and $5 for chil­dren. Vis­i­tors are asked to dress in black and white.

The ex­hi­bi­tion will be open between 10am and 2pm on Tues­days to Thurs­days, from 10.30am to 2.30pm on Fri­days, and on Oc­to­ber 20 from 10am to 4pm. www.com­mu­ni­typix.com.au d487557
