Joondalup Weekender - - REMEMBRANCE DAY -

THE City of Joondalup will host a Remembrance Day ceremony at the Central Park War Memorial.

This Sunday’s service will mark the 100th anniversary of the Armistice that ended World War I.

Those paying their respects are asked to arrive no later than 10.30am for a 10.45am start. The service will be followed by a free community sausage sizzle.

For those who cannot make it to Joondalup, the recently opened Kingsley Peace and Reflection Precinct at 52 Creaney Drive is an alternative venue where residents can pay tribute to our past and present servicemen and women.

The brainchild of local resident Brian Cooper, the precinct comprises four plinths with commemorative plaques and three benches.

Rita Cooper (representing her late husband Brian) with Colin Heap from the Kingsley-Woodvale Lions Club, Joondalup Mayor Albert Jacob and councillors John Chester and John Logan.
