TWO TOP HEALTH EXECS AT MIDLAND HOSPITAL RESIGN:
THE chief executive and another senior staff member from Midland public hospital have resigned over the past two weeks.
St John of God Health Care confirmed CEO Glen Power’s departure in a statement to the Reporter, saying he resigned on July 17. No reason was given for the resignation.
The departure came as a surprise to the Swan Chamber of Commerce, which had Dr Power on its board.
He was due to host a chamber networking event at the hospital, which was switched to another venue.
“He had a lot of respect from our members,” a chamber spokesman said.
“In fact, people were disappointed to hear he was leaving.”
St John of God WA hospitals executive director John Fogarty will be acting chief executive until a new CEO is recruited.
Mr Fogarty said Dr Power played a key role in the successful commissioning and opening of the hospital and the outstanding care it had delivered to the community in its first 18 months.
“I thank Glen for his dedication and commitment to the organisation and wish him all the best with his future endeavours,” he said.
St John of God has confirmed that Midland public hospital’s director of medical services Allan Pelkowitz resigned last week.
Mr Pelkowitz, who has taken up a senior role at WA Country Health Service, will remain at SJG Midland Public and Private hospitals as director of medical services until mid-August.
