AGAIN, yet again, you headline the need for us to vote in our local elections.
In State and Federal elections most of us vote for the party our candidate represents.
But, in local elections, all I have to go on is a list of names, none of whom I know, and of whose abilities I have no idea. (Oh yes, prospective councillor a,b,etc. have lived in the ward for z years, and brought up their family here; therefore they are our BEST representative.)
So, should I vote for the most attractive name, or not vote at all? Perhaps the whole system needs revising to let us know who (if we vote at all) we are voting for.
