We had a big response to the news that the State Government had set aside funding in the Budget for moving the Midland train station to land at Cale Street-Railway Parade and for the extension of the rail line to Bellevue.

Yes, but they have said they will extend line through to Bellevue with this work, and then later extend to Stratton. I was promised a train line to Stratton over a quarter of a century ago, so I will believe that station when I see it.

It’s only moving 100 metres or so! We have a really great bus service. I can’t see a train station making much difference apart from holding up traffic at the train crossing!

Hoping they address the minimalist parking ticket machine situation and put in a few more machines throughout the car parking area.

Let’s hope they build a decent-sized carpark too.
