COUNCIL NEEDS TO RE-THINK
RE the removal of many mature roadside trees on Welshpool Road East, Wattle Grove.
If you are following the story that has had over 6000 ‘signatures’ on Facebook opposing the imminent removal of large mature tree on Welshpool Road East, the attached will be useful.
The Kalamunda councillors were made fully aware that this is a very high accident risk location and entry to the site entails a U-turn across a very narrow central reservation on a dual carriageway facing fast-moving traffic down Welshpool Hill. I asked them formally at the time when approval was under consideration to help the Church to find another more suitable location to avoid such inevitable human risks and unnecessary removal of at least 13 large mature roadside trees.
My concerns are formally recorded in the minutes of the November 28 Kalamunda council meeting.
PETER FORREST, Kalamunda
