Man charged with armed robbery
Kalgoorlie detectives have arrested a 27-year-old Lamington man who allegedly threatened two teenagers with a large knife during a robbery earlier this month.
The two boys, both aged 15, were in the front yard of a Rainsford Loop home on the morning of Sunday, August 16.
The teenagers were standing alongside two off-road motorcycles at the Victory Heights property when Jeffrey Foley allegedly approached the pair brandishing the knife.
Accompanied by another man yet to be located by police, Mr Foley allegedly grabbed one of the boys in a headlock, held the knife to his throat and threatened to slash him with the blade if he resisted.
Mr Foley and his accomplice are alleged to have then pushed the two boys off their motorcycles, riding them off the property.
Members of the public reported seeing the motorcycles being driven recklessly across roads through Boulder that afternoon.
Mr Foley was charged with aggravated armed robbery and refused bail by police.
He was subsequently refused bail a second time when he appeared in Kalgoorlie Magistrate’s Court and has been remanded for a further hearing on September 3.
