Gold­fields chil­dren can go trick or treat­ing in a safe but spooky en­vi­ron­ment this af­ter­noon at the Palace Theatre Recre­ation Cen­tre.

The RSPCA Kal­go­or­lie Aux­il­iary is host­ing its first ma­jor fundraiser, a Hal­loween Skat­ing Disco, giv­ing chil­dren a safe space to trick or treat and an­i­mals a safe place to live.

From 2.30pm to 5.30pm, chil­dren aged 12 and un­der can skate, dance, trick and treat to their heart’s con­tent, all in aid of giv­ing aban­doned an­i­mals a sec­ond chance.

Chil­dren are en­cour­aged to come dressed in their spook­i­est cos­tumes and face paint­ing will be avail­able for a gold coin do­na­tion.

Prizes for best dressed, spooky games, lucky dips, a sausage siz­zle and cof­fee van will also be avail­able.

Pres­i­dent Kel­lie Vin­cent said all pro­ceeds from the event would go to­wards vet­eri­nary and food bills for the many cats and dogs in care.

Tick­ets are $15, in­clud­ing skate hire, and can be pur­chased at the door or from Planet Pet and Aquar­ium.
