Goldfields community organisations who frequently receive help from volunteers can now apply for grants of up to $5000.

The Federal Government has allocated $20 million for the 2015 round of Volunteer Grants, which can be used to cover costs incurred by those who work without a wage.

Those costs include day-to-day fees or charges such as fuel, first aid training, background checks, and transport for volunteers who cannot drive. Funding for basic technology like computers and printers can also be covered.
