Esperance police have seized a high-performance motorbike and expect to charge the rider, who they say was caught driving at almost 100km/h in a 50km/h zone.
Police claim the Ducati rider was detected at 11.30am yesterday morning riding at 99km/h on the Twilight Beach Road tourist loop.
He was stopped by police and his motorbike was seized for 28 days.
Police say the driver is expected to be charged with reckless driving.
Esperance Police Station officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Richard Moore said the rider could have being a fatality statistic.
“With 16 fatalities in Western Australia this year this person could have easily have been number 17,” he said.
