Blowies keen to cement top place

TOUCH FOOTBALL

Kalgoorlie Miner - - SPORT -

As the qualifying series winds down, Blowies are hitting their very best form in Goldfields A-grade touch football.

With three rounds to go, they have finally usurped perennial favourites NVUS for the first time this season at the top of the pile after a big 5-1 win against their rivals last Saturday.

And they will be odds-on favourites going into tonight’s 6pm outing against United at Goldfields Oasis playing fields, with cellardwellers United yet to win this season.

United will, however, be looking to continue the momentum of a strong performance last week against Nesian, when they narrowly succumbed 4-3.

NVUS will have to bounce back against Nesian at 5pm to keep the heat on Blowies.

Tap n Gap B will be out to maintain their two-game advantage at the top of B-grade, and should not be too hard-pressed against lastplaced Nesian Mystix, while a contest with Blowies B gives Titans an opportunity to move within a game of Deuces, who have the bye.
