For every bear that ever there was invited to picnic
Children are invited to bring their teddy bears and a Christmas gift to a picnic later this month in support of the Salvation Army.
Drawing inspiration from this year’s Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community Fair, Kalgoorlie Metro Property Group is holding a Teddy Bear Picnic at Hammond Park to collect donations for the local Salvos’ Christmas Appeal.
The real estate team decided to continue its support of the charity after raising $1000 for the Salvos’ Winter Appeal earlier in the year.
Sales manager Renee McLean said the team liked to support a charity or two every year.
“Christmas is the time when a lot of families are doing it tough, so we thought it was an important time to help again,” Mrs McLean said.
“We are asking families to bring a gift for a girl or boy and place it under the tree just to bring hope to some of the disadvantaged kids this Christmas.”
The business will also be buying food to donate to the Salvos and charity tins will be available on the day for people to contribute.
The picnic will take place on November 24 from 10am to noon and will include free bouncy castles, face painting, drinks and lollies.
