Child ex­ploita­tion charges read out

A GOLDEN Bay man fac­ing child ex­ploita­tion ma­te­rial charges had his re­quest to not have his charges read in open court de­nied by the Mag­is­trate.

Gre­gory Thomas Crocker pleaded guilty to six charges when he ap­peared on Septem­ber 15 at Rock­ing­ham Mag­is­trates Court.

Be­fore tak­ing his guilty pleas Mag­is­trate Vivien Ed­wards noted the re­quest.

“There is a note not to read out the charges; they will be read out,” she said.

She then read out the charges stat­ing that on July 10, at Golden Bay, Crocker pos­sessed images and videos de­pict­ing chil­dren en­gaged in sex­u­alised poses or ac­tiv­i­ties.

The fol­low­ing five charges oc­curred at sep­a­rate times from Oc­to­ber 2016 to De­cem­ber 1, 2016 again at Golden Bay where Crocker had dis­trib­uted ma­te­rial de­pict­ing chil­dren en­gaged in sex­u­alised poses or ac­tiv­i­ties.

He is set for fast track sen­tenc­ing in the Dis­trict Court on Novem­ber 10; a pre-sen­tence and psy­cho­log­i­cal re­port were or­dered.
