I STOPPED at Rockingham City post office to check my post box. Less than 30 seconds. In the mail I received a $65 fine from the Rockingham City Ranger stating clause 4.5 (4)(b) – A person shall not park a vehicle so that any portion of the vehicle is within 20 metres of the approach side of a pedestrian crossing.
There are no No Parking signs or warning of that little-known local law. So don't stop to donate your clothes etc to charity or post a letter into the post box. The Ranger is watching to fine you. JULIE WADLEY, Rockingham
