Lo­cal swim­mers shine at State ti­tles

KWINANA Swim­ming Club mem­bers per­formed well on the week­end at the Ju­nior Short Course State Cham­pi­onships.

The swim­mers achieved a 76 per cent per­sonal best rate.

Monique Bal­lard (8) won bronze in the 100m back­stroke and 100m breast­stroke, and also achieved four per­sonal best times.

Si­enna Cum­mins com­peted in eight events and just missed out on medals. She achieved per­sonal best times in ev­ery event. Olivia Kadamani recorded six per­sonal best times, in­clud­ing a 13.40sec per­sonal best in the 800m freestyle event.

Han­nah South broke club records, win­ning a bronze medal in the 50m freestyle in a record 29.42sec.

Charlee Eaves won a sil­ver medal in the 200m back­stroke.

Swim­mers were al­ready back in the pool this week work­ing to­wards the long­course sea­son.
