Local swimmers shine at State titles
KWINANA Swimming Club members performed well on the weekend at the Junior Short Course State Championships.
The swimmers achieved a 76 per cent personal best rate.
Monique Ballard (8) won bronze in the 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke, and also achieved four personal best times.
Sienna Cummins competed in eight events and just missed out on medals. She achieved personal best times in every event. Olivia Kadamani recorded six personal best times, including a 13.40sec personal best in the 800m freestyle event.
Hannah South broke club records, winning a bronze medal in the 50m freestyle in a record 29.42sec.
Charlee Eaves won a silver medal in the 200m backstroke.
Swimmers were already back in the pool this week working towards the longcourse season.
Kwinana Swimming Club members did well at the junior short course championships.
