Truck and fuel theft lands man in court

A 30-year-old Warnbro man has been charged with steal­ing over the dis­ap­pear­ance of a fire truck.

The ve­hi­cle, a Toy­ota Land­cruiser ute, went miss­ing in the early hours of Sun­day morn­ing near Pem­ber­ton.

It was then al­legedly used in a fuel drive-off in Pre­ston Beach on Tues­day, with po­lice re­leas­ing im­ages of two men wanted for ques­tion­ing.

Based on in­for­ma­tion pro­vided by mem­bers of the public, the two peo­ple pic­tured in the CCTV im­ages from the fuel drive-off in­ci­dent were iden­ti­fied by po­lice. One of the men, a 30-year-old from Warnbro, was found in the Perth metro area.

He has been charged with pos­ses­sion of stolen or un­law­fully ob­tained prop­erty and steal­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle.

He has also been charged with hav­ing no author­ity to drive and pos­ses­sion of cannabis and methy­lam­phetamine.
