Winning ingredient

Kwinana Courier - - Opinion -

THREE local residents made the finals in the Big Bethanie Bake Off.

Vi Chatfield, from Bethanie Waters Port Kennedy, Margaret Thorpe, from Bethanie Waters Port Kennedy, and Rita Kroesen, from Bethanie Kwinana Social Centre, attended the grand final at Burswood Park on November 1.

The Big Bethanie Bake Off is held to encourage Bethanie clients to present their favourite recipe or their grandparent’s favourite recipe, along with the story behind it, to be judged by a panel of experts.

The event not only creates an opportunity for Bethanie clients to reminisce and relive the wonderful memories that arise while searching for their favourite recipe, it is also a great opportunity for Bethanie to help close the ever-increasing intergenerational gap between seniors and youngsters.

The Big Bethanie Bake Off also leaves behind an everlasting legacy, with all finalist recipes being published in a special recipe booklet.
