Staff threat­ened with knife

A ROCK­ING­HAM man has been charged with ag­gra­vated armed rob­bery after al­legedly steal­ing elec­tri­cal items and then threat­en­ing staff with a knife at Har­vey Nor­man in Port Kennedy.

About 10.40am on Jan­uary 16, a white Ford Fal­con sedan re­versed into the item col­lec­tion bay at the store on Sal­taire Way.

Two peo­ple re­mained in the ve­hi­cle while a man ex­ited and be­gan load­ing elec­tri­cal items into the boot.

Police say the man was then ques­tioned by staff but he threat­ened them with a knife be­fore con­tin­u­ing to load items into the car.

He then left the scene in the car. The ve­hi­cle was later seen be­ing driven in Rock­ing­ham and was stopped by of­fi­cers from Re­gional In­ves­ti­ga­tions Unit and Rock­ing­ham De­tec­tives.

A man was taken into cus­tody and the stolen prop­erty later lo­cated at a unit in Rock­ing­ham.

An­drew Charles Peter­son (26) ap­peared in Rock­ing­ham Mag­is­trates Court on Wednesday.

His next court date is sched­uled for Fe­bru­ary 7 at Stir­ling Gar­dens Mag­is­trates Court.
