Christmas goes off with a bang
SANTA Claus, carols, food and fireworks – the annual Kyabram Christmas Gala has it all and residents can enjoy every bit of it from 6 pm December 22. At the Kyabram Memorial Gardens, this year’s festival – supported by GMCU Kyabram and the Kyabram Chamber of Commerce – will again feature a wide range of family fun activities and Christmas-themed events. Santa will also be on hand for the kids – and anyone else who wants a quiet word – between 6.30pm and 7pm before the Chamber of Commerce Christmas prizes are drawn. Families are then encouraged to bring a chair or a blanket and hunker down with some good food to enjoy the annual Christmas Carols in the park. The night will end with a bang at 9.30pm at the adjacent Kyabram Recreation Reserve with a grand fireworks display. Extended Christmas trading hours are Saturday, December 17 until 3pm, Sunday, December 18 between 10am – 3pm and Saturday, December 24 until 3pm. Chamber of Commerce president Miles Gould said this year was going to be another huge event for the town and the perfect way to get into the spirit of Christmas and the holiday season. “Everything you need for Christmas is here in Ky. Shop local and support local business,” he said.
