Ac­cused rob­ber hands him­self in

AN AC­CUSED armed rob­ber wanted by po­lice for al­most a year has been ar­rested.

Echuca de­tec­tives ar­rested Peter Hooper, 42, last Tues­day af­ter he handed him­self into po­lice.

The for­mer Kyabram man was wanted for out­stand­ing war­rants re­lat­ing to armed rob­bery, false im­pris­on­ment, kid­nap­ping, in­ten­tion­ally and reck­lessly caus­ing in­jury.

The of­fences re­late to an in­ci­dent in Septem­ber last year where a 40-year-old Kyabram man re­ported be­ing taken for a drive, threat­ened with a firearm, as­saulted and robbed.

Hooper was ar­rested and in­ter­viewed af­ter the in­ci­dent and re­leased on sum­mons to ap­pear in Echuca Mag­is­trates Court in Jan­uary 2016.

He failed to ap­pear as he moved to Queens­land.

Hooper ap­peared in Echuca Mag­is­trates Court on Tues­day where he was bailed, with­out po­lice op­po­si­tion, on strict con­di­tions, in­clud­ing a cur­few.

He is due to ap­pear at Bendigo Mag­is­trates Court on Fe­bru­ary 1 for a com­mit­tal men­tion.
