ALMOST 200 motor homes converged on the Kyabram Showground to be part of Kyabram’s annual RV and Country Music Corral held between November 3 and November 6. Chairman Allan Weeks said feedback for the event was overwhelmingly positive, with the town’s economy receiving a healthy boost. “We are very keen for the next event as this one was great fun. The performers were excellent and the public gate was up on last year,” he said. “We estimate that $18,000 was spent on bush market day due to the extra people from our event.” While the event was a success, Mr Weeks said the committee desperately needs new members. “The whole thing takes a lot of organising, we need new faces to keep this great tradition going,” he said. “The event is a huge help to the local businesses so it’s time the town steps up and keeps this going.” Mr Weeks said a special thanks goes to John and Aileen Veenstra and Dossie Grills for their tireless hours in making the event possible.
