Cot­tage snapped up

A PIECE of Echuca’s his­tory has gone un­der the ham­mer.

Char­lotte’s Cot­tage, named af­ter Echuca founder Henry Hop­wood’s wife, was knocked down for $810,000 af­ter bids from four par­ties at auc­tion last Satur­day week.

The new Mel­bourne own­ers in­tend to use it as a hol­i­day home and also as a ren­tal prop­erty.

The home is si­t­u­ated be­tween the Mur­ray and Cam­paspe Rivers on 900 square me­tres and has three bed­rooms, three bath­rooms a study, two liv­ing places and a mod­ern com­mer­cial kitchen.
