PRESIDENT Lois McDonald welcomed members to the November meeting held at the Kyabram RSL Hall.
A thank you letter from the P-12 College for the donation of two mugs for use in the sick bay was received.
Dates for next year to remember: Group conference at Harston on February 15. Group lunch combined with the 90th birthday celebrations of CWA in Victoria to be held at Harston Hall.
Branch was congratulated on winning first prize at Kyabram Show for their entry, thank you to Heather Fehring for setting it up.
Ruth Golding reported that former member Daphne McColl had been very ill, a card is to be sent with our best wishes. Morna Blythe reported former member Pat McLeod was enjoying life at Colac.
The December meeting will be held at Maureen Sheers’ on December 6 at 10.30am. The branch will wind up the year with lunch at the Kyabram Club on December 13.
After lunch, president Lois McDonald welcomed group president Lyn Tresize and her group secretary to the 69th annual meeting of the Lancaster branch of the CWA. Meeting opened with the collect.
President Lois McDonald and secretary Maureen Sheers gave comprehensive reports on the year’s activities.
Group president took the chair for the election of office bearers for next year. President Lois McDonald, vice president Ruth Golding, secretary Maureen Sheers and treasurer Heather Fehring.
The group president then gave some information on what would be happening at state level for this year.
State fair to be held at Umina on December 2. Two fruit cakes were donated.
Dates to remember for 2018: State conference at Williamstown May 31 until June 2. Creative arts exhibition at Leongatha Thursday, August 2 and Friday, August 3. Celebrations for the 90th birthday of CWA Victoria will be held throughout the state.
Group president and secretary were thanked for their attendance and presented with a gift.
Competition winners for the year: Best bloom, first Heather Fehring, second Lois McDonald.
Meeting closed with the motto after which afternoon tea was served.
