THERE’S no deny­ing Aus­tralians love their lamb.

And the lat­est news from Fitzger­ald’s Farm Fresh Meats will have ev­ery­one’s mouths wa­ter­ing.

It’s of­fi­cial – Kyabram has Vic­to­ria’s best lamb snags.

The Aus­tralian Meat and In­dus­try Coun­cil have crowned our very own Fitzger­ald’s Butch­ers on Al­lan St as the 2017 Lamb Sausage Kings of Vic­to­ria.

Owner Joel Fitzger­ald said the award was a wel­come shock.

“It was re­ally great to have the recog­ni­tion,’’ he said.

‘‘And it did come as a bit of a sur­prise.

“We won the re­gional fi­nals and the state fi­nals.

‘‘The Aus­tralian ti­tle is an­nounced in Fe­bru­ary, so we’ll see.

“The win­ning combo was our grass­fed Aus­tralian lamb with roasted cap­sicum, sun­dried tomato, spinach and fetta.

‘‘All of our beef and lamb is grass­fed, we source it from our own farm.’’

The na­tional fi­nals will be an­nounced early next year and so be­gins the wait.
