40 years ago RUSH­WORTH golf as­so­ciates’ third ag­gre­gate round was held last week. Scores are still high, prob­a­bly re­flect­ing the heavy con­di­tions that have been pre­vail­ing.

Ann Pearce took out the A grade hon­ors with 93-21-72 on a count­back from Doris Bar­low 93-21-72.

B grade went to Florence Perry with 96-28-68 on a count­back from Lor­raine Bar­low 102-34-68. Near­est the pin was Florence Perry.

The ag­gre­gate tro­phy, which is do­nated by the as­so­ciates’ cap­tain each year, was this year won by Lor­raine Bar­low from Doris Bar­low (sec­ond) and Nan Jes­sup (third).

Char­ity day will be held on Mon­day Septem­ber 18. It will be a 4BBB sta­ble­ford with all prof­its to cancer re­search.

20 years ago THE Kyabram Probus Club re­cently cel­e­brated its fifth birth­day.

The first meet­ing was held in May 1993 and meet­ings have been held monthly since then. Mem­ber num­bers are grow­ing steadily.

Peo­ple who are re­tired or semi-re­tired are wel­come to at­tend meet­ings and if in­ter­ested ap­ply to be­come a mem­ber.

In re­cent months, the club has en­joyed day trips to Bendigo and Rush­worth. Speak­ers at meet­ings have in­cluded Roz Kel­lett and Karen Burt, of CamCare.

Jim Dullard, se­nior of­fi­cer sta­tioned in Shep­par­ton, gave a com­pre­hen­sive cov­er­age of the CFA and its ac­tiv­i­ties and Mrs Louisa Gobbo com­pared her early life in Italy with life in Aus­tralia.

The next meet­ing will be held on Mon­day, Septem­ber 7 at the RSL Hall at 10am. Joan Smith and her guide dog from the As­so­ci­a­tion for the Blind will be there.
