LAST Thursday, Kyabram Golf Croquet travelled to Rich River to contest the fifth round of the pennant season. A convincing win has put Kyabram into fourth position on the ladder.
Unfortunately, two players were unable to play on the day, so the team had to call on two emergency players, Chris Puetz and Margaret Sullivan.
Chris won her first single game against Rich River Emu’s number one player. Her second singles game proved very competitive, Chris ending up losing 5/7. She then went on to win her next two doubles games.
Rayleen McDonald starred for Kyabram, winning both singles games then both doubles .
Margaret Sullivan, playing her first ever pennant game, started off a bit shaky and found the court much faster than she was used to. She lost her first singles 3/7. She started to get used to the courts in her second game but unfortunately lost by one point on the last hoop. She also won both doubles games. Well done Margaret.
Trudie Serafin also struggled with the pace of the courts in her first singles match, losing 3/7. She then came back and won all her next games.
