Women in­vited to talk health

WOMEN from around the re­gion are in­vited to take part in a free women’s fo­rum at the Rush­worth Angli­can Church Hall on tomorrow, Septem­ber 6.

The fo­rum will be part of Women’s Health Week, which runs from Septem­ber 3-7.

While the fo­rum is par­tic­u­larly aimed at women in agri­cul­ture, all women from around the re­gion are in­vited to at­tend.

The fo­rum will run from 11am un­til 2pm and will fo­cus on the health of the mind and body.

A fe­male GP will speak on the day, as well as a psy­chol­o­gist and con­ti­nence nurse.

“Many of the women in our ge­o­graph­i­cal area are in­volved in dairy farm­ing and as is so com­mon in the con­tin­u­ing bat­tle to hold fam­ily and farm to­gether they of­ten put every­thing first and them­selves last.

“The fo­rum will be an op­por­tu­nity to get off the farm, talk to other women in a re­laxed at­mos­phere, en­joy a meal and take away in­for­ma­tion which can help sus­tain their health and well­be­ing.”

The or­gan­is­ing com­mit­tee has re­ceived fund­ing to help with trans­port to and from the ses­sion for women based in the Kyabram, Stan­hope and Gir­garre area.

The com­mit­tee thanked spon­sors for the event in­clud­ing, United Dairy­farm­ers of Vic­to­ria (UDV) - Trustees of the Goul­burn Cam­paspe Dairy Farm­ers Char­i­ta­ble Trust, Mur­ray Dairy, Goul­burn Val­ley Health, Rush­worth Com­mu­nity House, Shire of Cam­paspe and Stan­hope Health.
