>> Seniors notes

Kyabram Free Press - - NEWS -

LAST week we stayed in-house. The plan was to play bingo, but we became way-laid when we received numerous news items including the Seniors Paper, the Girgarre Gazette and the Victorian Seniors Festival Program booklet. So much to do and so little time, October is going to be a very busy month.

After discussing all that is on offer, we moved on to the topic of knitting, as two of our seniors were knitting up a storm during our chats.

Debra, our volunteer seniors coordinator was in and out – busy in the kitchen.

We were all very impressed with our lunch, salted pork belly pieces, served with saute´ ed cabbage, roast pumpkin and potatoes. Dessert was a mixed bag of drumsticks, frozen yoghurt and a selection of cheeses. Next week we are off to Merry Melodies in Shepparton. Doesn’t that once a month trip come around quickly?

It is good to see the sunshine for a few hours but we do need rain.

Bowls winners last week were Andrew Dougherty, Barry Edwards and Dave Coram.

Card winners were Dorothy Anderson, Ron Anderson and Ian Stone.

Get well wishes to any members in hospital or housebound.

Hope to see you back at the club soon.

Games day next Wednesday so don’t forget to put your name on to the board for choice of games and for catering purposes.

Hope all enjoy the coming seniors celebrations in October and our club’s birthday also in October.
