>> Garden club notes
DESPITE our meeting day falling on a public holiday (AFL Grand Final weekend), it will still be held this Friday.
Due to unforseen circumstances, the Finley trip will now be a week later on October 22. Bring your lunch to have in a garden there. There will be morning tea to share.
All are welcome. Names and $15 in a named envelope by this Friday’s meeting. To book ring president Steve Graham 5859 0296 or secretary Marg Bowers on 5853 2194. The bus will leave the carpark opposite Baptist Church at 8am.
Floral Art for Friday is Mother and Daughter two similar (if possible) containers, one smaller than the other. Preferably use smaller containers. It is the arrangement that is judged, not the containers.
The Kyabram A.H.&P. Society Show is fast approaching (October 20) so try and have an entry in the Horticultural Pavilion as well as in other Pavilions. We will have show schedules and entry forms available at Friday’s meeting. Entry forms and entry fees are due at the show office at the rear of the Kyabram sports Stadium (drive around to the back door), by October 16, before 4pm. Then your entries may be taken to the Horticultural Pavilion (stewards are there to gladly assist you) before 11am on Friday, October 19.
There is no guest speaker this month — there will be a swap day instead, so bring along a plant or garden related item for the swap table. A discussion time is also planned.
What a lucky day last month, scoring cuttings of chrysanthemums after our guest speaker John Morvell of Bendigo gave instructions on how to grow and care for the above plant. Members and visitors scored well, many thanks again John.
