One for the ages
IT’S SIMPLE maths and not a once-ina-1000-year phenomenon.
A Facebook post doing the rounds claims this only happens once every 1000 years:
Add your age plus the year you were born and you will get 2018.
Even the Channel 10 weatherman fell for it last week and caught out many viewers.
Well, it actually happens on December 31 every year.
It also works for anybody on any day of the year after their birthday.
By definition, if you add the number of years you’ve lived to the year you were born, you will always get the current year.
The main lesson from this is how easily things circulate on Facebook and how fake news can spread like a wildfire.
