Rock on to help keep the pool cool
AN AFTERNOON of fun is promised by the Kyvalley Pool Committee as they’ve got Shane and the Wong Brother in to keep you entertained for a good cause.
On October 14, the Kyvalley Hall will be rocking to your favourites from the ‘60s all the way to the modern-day favourites.
“It’s sure to be a great afternoon, the event is always popular and I’m sure anyone who has been to a previous fundraiser has enjoyed past concerts,” Kyvalley pool committee’s Bev Williams said.
“We’re looking forward to everyone coming along and we’re hoping to see some new faces — it’s somewhere to go on a Sunday afternoon.
“Our events are all about raising money and it all goes back to the pool. Everyone’s a volunteer and they take the time to look after the pool and the grounds so we appreciate people coming along and supporting our functions.”
One of the highlights of the day will be the raffles where you can win two tonne of split redgum firewood or a men’s bike, prizes donated by the community with the ticket sales to benefit the pool.
Ken Wong, the Wong brother of the duo, said they’re looking forward to heading out to Kyvalley for their first show in the district.
“This is such a great community project, it’ll be a real privilege for us to be involved in the fundraiser,” Mr Wong said. “For us, it’s a great way to give something back to the local community which has responded so positively to our music.”
It starts at 1.30pm, costs $20 (which includes afternoon tea) and bookings go to Beryl on 0408 137 635, Bev 0417 360 687.
