>> Seniors notes
WE WERE thrilled to have the lovely Nerida Dye from Campaspe Library Service join us last week. We played the iPad version of hangman, with everyone having a good time and exercising the grey matter. We had fish and chips from Stanhope for a nice change, giving our wonderful volunteers the day off from the kitchen. Our numbers were down, due to holiday adventures, but lively discussions were still had, with the problems of the world once again solved. Off to Shepparton RSL next for Merry Melodies with Tom Routledge. Enjoy the beautiful weather!
STILL NO rain in our area but we are hoping seniors can hopefully enjoy all the celebrations offered by government. Our birthday is on October 19, beginning at 12pm, and tickets are available at the club. Members price is $13 and nonmembers is $15. Blums fashions will be here on October 11 and entry is $3 with lucky door prize and morning tea beginning at 10.30am. Bowls winners last week were Ron Mansfield, John Tarrant and Don Drayton. Card winners were Dorothy Anderson, Ron Anderson and Jill Hicks. Cards are played on Wednesdays from 1.30pm and also on Mondays from 1.30pm. Plenty of activities to keep us busy in the coming heat. Get well wishes to any member in hospital or house bound. Hope to see you back in circulation soon.
THE TRIP to Mulwala on October 1 was enjoyed by all. There were some winners and some losers. A lot of people were looking forward to all the bargains they would get at the Tongala Garage Sale last Saturday. The powers that be are working on a mystery trip on November 24. Early booking appreciated — payment on booking please. It’s $20 inclusive for the day, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Those interested please ring David 0407 845 461, Marg 0448 803 386 or Lois 0433 818 594. Our next trip is to Rich River, it is a night trip with a two course meal. Please ring Lois. Number is above.
