ALLAN St will be unrecognisable on Friday as shops spill into the streets and the annual Kyabram Bush Market gets underway.
With more than 80 stalls expected – and entertainment going on all day – it is expected to be even bigger and better than its previous incarnations.
Melbourne Cup holidays and celebrations will be out of the way, the Country Music Festival starting the next day and with bargains going all day Friday Ky and surrounds are in party mode.
The action starts from 9am and Kyabram Chamber of Commerce president Miles Gould said more than 80 stalls will take over the main strip with entertainment and bargains galore.
Miles said the bush market was all about community and the local economy.
“We know there will be a great atmosphere, that has been central in the past couple of years,” Miles said.
“The kids love it, the parents love it, and people are often walking around having a look and trying to buy things while we’re still setting up at seven in the morning.”
The bush market has long been the brainchild of the chamber of commerce and become a major fixture on the local calendar.
Conveniently it is also the perfect opportunity to kick start your Christmas shopping because every participating business will be featuring some amazing specials.
Kyabram’s main street will be closed to traffic between Church St and Albion St from 8 am to 5 pm, allowing KCC member businesses to set up stalls in the street.
Marking its 38th anniversary this year, the 2018 Kyabram Bush Market will have hundreds of special offers up for grabs from a wide range of retail outlets.
This year more businesses from all over the district will be joining the action in the main street to provide an even greater range of products and bargains.
Miles said the event was a “perfect day out for the whole family”, with plenty of entertainment on offer throughout the day.
“The day is going to be jam-packed with bargains and it is an event that really sets Kyabram apart – it’s one of the big winners for which the town is known.
“And as we said, it will also be a brilliant lead-in to the Country Music Festival on the weekend.”
