CWA re-elects office bearers
THE Sheridan/Kyabram branch of The Country Women’s Association of Victoria has had an interesting, busy and productive year throughout the 2017–18 period.
Group president Lyn Trezise and group secretary Janice Barrette were welcomed. Lyn took the chair for election of office bearers when the president, secretary and treasurer were reelected.
Many interesting meeting formats were chosen like the January breakfast, March birthday outing, April fish and chip night, June international Peruvian celebration, July Christmas in July Roast, football finals fever in September with footy fare eaten during the progressive dinner with rivalry between the many dressed in football colours. These functions create lots of fun and fellowship between members.
Many projects have been supported during the year like the pancake day in Shepparton, rugs and teddies for Samaritan’s Purse, Lighthouse Foundation in Shepparton with knitting needles amd yarn, Carolyn Chisholm Centre with trauma teddies amd night wear for 8–12yo, beanies amd scarves for the homeless, Christmas cakes and puddings for St Vincent de Paul and Salvation Army.
Many local organisations were recipients of monetary donations throughout the year. Group fun day in March to celebrate CWA of Vic 90th birthday – a great day at Harston.
