PENGUIN FACTS

Life & Style Weekend - - TRAVEL -

The Magellanic penguins breed in Argentina between September and April. They were named after Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan who spotted them in 1520. They are a burrowing species and prefer to nest under bushes. Breeding pairs are monogamous and both share responsibility for the eggs and chicks. They drink sea water, filtering out the salt with salt-excreting glands.
